Debate of the day.

Thought I'd start a new feature inspired by my English coursework(yes I've chosen Atonement, predictable I know). Today's focus is on Briony: do you think it was a deceit or just a result of her innocence? Do you feel hatred or remorse for her? Comment below and let me know what you're thinking.

Disclaimer: I'm not making you do my English coursework for me, honest. I just thought it was an interesting point of debate!

Saoirse Ronan

I've just got time enough to tell you today about the little lady with the big acting talent and big, confusing(by the way how DO you say her name? I think it's Ser-sha. Any help?) has just taken on an exciting new role. It's the lead in an up and coming film called "The Lovely Bones" which is being directed by Peter Jackson! I can just see it, Saoirse climbing the hills of middle earth with her little hobbity feet(lol) no I'm sure it'll be fantastic go check Saoirse's IMDB for more info on the film. I'm all excited for another "Atonement" trip to the cinema even if it's not to see the film it's self.

James McAvoy

It seems this week with the DVD of "Wanted" in shops near you soon our very own James Mac is being plastered all over our screens...shame Robbie couldn't be, don't worry I'll get over it(eventually). He being a UK native has been pedling out TV appearances all over the place. This coming Friday he'll be on Jonathan Ross (BBC1 10.35 and I'll link you the iplayer incase you missed it) and as my TV just informed me he'll be co-presenting on T4 this Sunday(Probably not until after Hollyoaks which finishes at 11 I think...leave me alone I'm a student I'm SUPPOSED to know these things!) Also don't forget to catch "Inside I'm Dancing" this Saturday on ITV1(11pm) which is a brilliant film, check James' IMDB page for more details. WHAT A WEEKEND! Mr Mac's been a busy boy and I'm looking forward to it immensley.

Atonement Fashion

News has reached me that there's going to be a late 1920s/early 1930s fashion exhibit in the Royal Fashion Museum in Bath this weekend. I think I might pop along if I can but I just thought it could be the discussion for the day: what was your favourite period piece in the film?
Costume in Atonement was well and truly beautiful. I must say coming up high on my list would be Keira's green dress in the first section in the film, it's stunning! If only I could wear it as well as her! Coming up a close second for myself would have to be the swim wear that Paul Marshal(I know I said that dirty man's name! Shock horror!) and Leon wear is brilliant if not only for the dedication to the decade. With Marshal's moustache he looks like he should be down the british seaside bothering victorian ladies rather than Lola. Talking of which I love what Joe Wright did putting her in pinks etc. to clash with her red hair a very subtle trick by Mr Wright although she was supposed to be 'so mature' she still can't get the right colour pallet for her skin tone! HA!

Atonement

Welcome to the "Atonement" fansite. A place where you can talk all things Atonement and not get shouted at(unless you go off topic of course)...so jabber on!

Throughout the life of the site I hope to encourage debate about this wonderful film and keep you updated with news about the film, cast and author.

So welcome along and I hope you enjoy it here.
